It is important to me that the guest recognizes themselves in the work and enjoys looking at the portrait."

The exact process can be tailored to the concept and schedule of the celebration. With Inha Barsukova, guests are photographed on-site and then illustrated by hand.

The creative process remains visible. Guests watch as the illustration gradually takes shape from lines and watercolor washes. Many strike up a conversation, sharing their own experiences with drawing or artistic hobbies in their families.

From my perspective as a wedding planner, it starts with a completely different question: What kind of experience should be created during the wedding – and what atmosphere does the couple want to support with it?

If live illustration is intentionally chosen as an artistic component of the wedding, I would always opt for a live illustrator. This is about much more than just producing as many portraits as possible. The artist herself is part of the experience. Guests can watch her work, strike up a conversation, and witness how their personal interpretation comes to life. Especially at intimate weddings, where encounters, interaction, and the relationships between guests play an important role, this personal and artistic process fits the atmosphere very well.

An AI drawing robot creates a different experience. It can become entertainment in itself, draw attention, and produce a larger number of portraits in a short amount of time. This can be particularly interesting for large weddings or for couples who are passionate about technology and innovation and want to consciously integrate this aspect into their wedding.

However, the higher capacity alone would not be a reason for me to choose a drawing robot. If the goal is simply to provide every guest with a portrait as a keepsake, there are other ways to achieve this – for example, illustrations that are created before the wedding and placed at each seat.

The decisive factor is therefore less the question of "Who can draw more guests?" and more "What should this element contribute to the wedding?"

If it is primarily intended to be a technical entertainment element that enables as many portraits as possible in a short time, an AI drawing robot can fit the concept well. If, on the other hand, art itself is to become part of the wedding experience while fostering personal encounters, communication, and interaction, I would choose the live illustrator.
